Cheryle Greene Author of the Graves of Goliad, Cheryle Greene gives readers a stirring glimpse into the bloody past of the Texas War for Independence through the voices of characters both past and present. Destined to travel Cheryle Miller Greene was born a ‘Bama Belle in Birmingham, Alabama. She spent her childhood living in exotic places. In Hokkaidō, Japan she became fascinated with Japanese folklore and customs. Her military dad finally settled in San Antonio. She soon became enthralled in Texas’ rich history. You cannot live in San Antonio and come away unchanged. Texas history is now a part of her soul. She met her husband, Bobby Greene at the University of Texas in Austin. After receiving her Master’s in Library Science, they moved to Dallas where she became an inspiring school librarian, a job she treasured for twenty-seven years. Cheryle is now enjoying her retirement and writing children’s mysteries. She is obsessed with good mysteries. It is her goal to write books that children cannot be put down. Born among the roses in Tyler, Texas, Ramona Bullard Tipton is a sixth generation Texan. Her father, Doyle Bullard was instrumental in her love of literature. Her work as a hairstylist/salon owner led to her study of personalities. She enjoys a settled life with her husband, Troy and extended family and friends in Dallas. Ramona’s mission is to make a positive difference in the lives of children and adults who suffer with learning differences such as Dyslexia and A.D.D. by changing the public’s impression of them. Her distinctive books reach out to the reader by drawing them in with an entertaining story while reminding them of the hero's condition.

Ramona Tipton, through her writing, is committed to changing the way the world sees people with learning differences. They are not to be made fun of or pitied, but are heroes who struggle beside us every day without complaint. Their handicap is invisible. In her books, the stars always have Dyslexia, A.D.D., or, impairment such as hearing. This gently reinforces the idea that everyone can live up to his or her full potential, and even save the day while doing so!

Tom Williams - Escape to Black Water Bayou

Tom Williams Born in Chicago Illinois, Tom moved with his family to South Texas at the age of seven. After graduating from W.B. Ray High School in Corpus Christi, he continued his education and received two business degrees from Southern Methodist University. His field was computers/ business systems until his true calling emerged... writing children’s books. He enjoys the Texas life style in Dallas with his lovely wife Margaret, who is a retired schoolteacher. Together they are very active in church, community, and have three grown children living in Texas.

Nancy Lambert Davenport - Donovan and The Big Hole

Ramona TiptonNancy taught high school English before her three children came into her life.  After her third, Austin, was born with Down syndrome, she became an Early Childhood Intervention specialist, a teacher of infants with disabilities. For ten years she wrote a weekly newspaper column on parenting.  Nancy lives with her husband, Dick. They divide their time between Dallas, Texas and the forests of East Texas near Athens.

 

Pam Van Scoyoc - Sparky and the Comet Caper

Pam Van ScoyocPam has been writing since the early nineties.  Until then she had never considered writing. Art yes, but writing no.  She has a background in art that makes visualizing stories, as she reads and writes, a real asset.  Picture books are her favorites, of which she has 3 in print. Also, she has two novels in the works. Pam currently lives way out in the country south of Houston, and is the mother of 4 grown children and grandmother of 6!!

 

JoAn Watson Martin - Bimini Bound: Ponce DeLeon's Quest

JoAn Watson MartinAfter teaching in the public school system for 22 years, Ms. Martin retired, but continued to serve as a reading/writing consultant for Houston area schools.  She taught several years in the Alpha Gifted and Talented program of Clear Creek School District and also served as an adjunct instructor in the School of Education at University of Houston at Clear Lake. JoAn believes reading can change lives and writes to give children books that deal honestly with the issues kids face today, stories that show children how they can understand themselves and others.

Deborah K. Frontiera - The Boy Navigator: Columbus before 1492

Deborah K. FrontieraDeborah grew up in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula but has lived in Houston since 1985, where she taught in public schools until retiring in 2008. Her fantasy trilogy's second edition, The Chronicles of Henry Roach-Dairier, with three subtitles, was released in the fall of 2004. Eric and the Enchanted Leaf: The First Adventure, also fall of 2004, was an Honor book for the Texas State Reading Association’s Golden Spur Award in 2005. The second in the series, Eric and the Enchanted Leaf: A Visit with Canis Lupis, came out in 2005, and won the North Texas Book Festival’s award for children’s books in 2007. The third in the series, Eric and the Enchanted Leaf: A Night with Echo, was released in December 2007. Her poems and articles have appeared in a variety of publications. She teaches part time for Writers in the Schools of the greater Houston area.

Jozh Siguenza

Jozh Siguenza a seventeen-year-old is setting the art world on fire with his unique approach and outstanding vision.  Jozh’s art is a fortune teller predicting his future.  His passion for illustrating children’s books has taken him down a road even he could not have predicted.  Jozh says, “Art has been with me all my life.  It enthusiastically soars down the highway of life and I am its passenger for the rest of my life!” Illustrating children’s books rounds out his passion for music, writing poems/stories, and theater design.  Jozh attends college in Dallas with intentions of establishing an extensive career within the art community.  Jozh, explained, “I believe I should prosper doing something I love and I refuse to spend my life only dreaming rather than acting upon it.”
Jozh proved he is a talent too big for Texas when he illustrated, Graves of Goliad, the 1st book in the “Texas Ghost Tales” series.  Join us at A HumDinger Press in welcoming Jozh.  We look forward to a long working relationship with the remarkable young artiste who seldom wears shoes.
